I am buying a ranch (about 1800 sq.ft.) in Georgia and will need to replace the carpet. I am looking for eco friendly options that will not cost a ridiculous amount. I was looking for bamboo flooring, but it looks like it is going to cost about a sq.ft. installed and I cannot afford that. Does anyone know if ceramic or porcelin floors are eco friendly or better than putting in hardwoods or new carpet. Please help!!!

I would suggest bamboo also! Try Lumber Liquidators – they have good prices – also they might know which type floor would suit you best!

You might price cork too. It’s a great eco-friendly alternative and sometimes you can find it on sale.

As far as your health goes, the tile with a low voc application would be far healthier than carpet.
